UIF Call Centre and Labour Centre Contact List

The UIF call centre number, Compensation Fund contacts, and every Labour Centre in the country with its phone number, sourced directly from the Department of Employment and Labour.

UIF Calculators Team Updated 6 min read

Labour Centres handle the in person side of UIF, from submitting documents to sorting out a stuck claim. Calling your nearest one directly is often quicker than the national call centre, since they can see your file and don't need to redirect you. All numbers below come straight from the Department of Employment and Labour's own contact listing, offices are open Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:00.

National Contact Numbers

Before You Call

  • Have your ID number ready. Every enquiry starts with it, whether it's UIF, the Compensation Fund, or a Labour Centre.
  • Call in the morning if you can. Lines tend to get busier as the day goes on, especially around month end.
  • Try your Labour Centre before the national line. They can see your specific file, which usually gets you a straighter answer.
  • Keep a note of who you spoke to and when. It helps if you need to follow up on the same query later.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the UIF call centre number?

0800 030 007. It's toll free and covers UIF claims, payments and general enquiries.

Should I call the UIF call centre or my nearest Labour Centre?

If your query is about a specific claim that's stuck or needs documents, your nearest Labour Centre can usually help faster, since staff there can pull up your file directly. The national call centre is better for general questions.

Do I need an appointment to visit a Labour Centre?

Most Labour Centres accept walk ins, but calling ahead to confirm is worth it, especially for busier offices in city centres. Bring your ID and any paperwork related to your query.

What if my nearest Labour Centre isn't listed here?

This list reflects the main Labour Centres per province as published by the Department of Employment and Labour. Some smaller visiting points aren't included, your provincial office can direct you to the closest one if your town isn't listed.

Checking a claim rather than needing to speak to someone? Our UIF status check online guide covers uifonline.labour.gov.za and USSD step by step.
