Missing UIF Contributions or Declarations?

Missing declarations can delay claims, reduce visible credit days or send a claim into adjudication while UIF verifies employment history.

Why Declarations Matter

Employers must declare workers and pay UIF contributions. Official UIF communications have warned that benefit payments are often delayed when employer declarations and contributions are not up to date.

Signs There May Be a Declaration Problem

  • Your status shows Pending Adjudicate
  • Your credit days look too low for the time you worked
  • UIF asks for employer documents or salary schedules
  • Your former employer says they still need to submit information

What Workers Can Do

  1. Ask your employer whether all monthly declarations were submitted.
  2. Keep payslips and employment records that show salary and dates worked.
  3. Check your claim status regularly on uFiling.
  4. Contact UIF or visit a labour centre if the employer does not cooperate.
